STOMP DANCE

STOMP DANCE

Our annual concert is coming up in September this year and we are excited about the event. To create
a great experience for our students, for you as parents and our school community, we use the STOMP
Dance Company to help all our students learn the necessary steps so their performance is top class.
The program is school wide and is an integral part of our Health and Well being Program that sets out
a range of physical and health based activities. Involvement with music and dance enhances our students learning and
assists them in the more formal literacy and numeracy lessons.
Some students who struggle in their literacy and numeracy, find that they excel in this program.
The Stomp Dance Program offers weekly lessons for your students to ensure that they are ready for the concert.
We understand that some families will find it difficult to find $50.00 for their child to participate so we have developed a
payment plan option for you if you can’t pay the fee all at once. If you have any difficulty please contact Debbie Dodd on
59962878. It is our policy that no child at our school should miss out on any educational opportunity because of financial
difficulties.
EDUCATION WEEK
We are having an Open Day to celebrate Education Week next Wednesday May 23rd from 9.00 am to 11.00 am. Our
classes will be running as normal so come in and enjoy your child’s learning. If the class is at Specialists you can join in
with the activities as well. You are welcome to join us for morning tea in the library.
NAPLAN
Our students in Years 3 and 5 have been involved in NAPLAN this week. I have walked around and have been very
impressed by their attempts to complete the tests in the best way they can. The testing classrooms have been very quiet so
that all students can concentrate. These tests do not define who your children are. They are just a snap shot held every year
to see how they measure up against the rest of the students in Australia in the same year levels. We are confident that our
improvement will continue with these assessments this year.
