It is that time of year again where we need to remind our school community about our School Uniform Policy. The reason we promote a compulsory school uniform are listed in the policy and we are pleased that most of our students arrive every day in the correct uniform. Sometimes your children don’t have their proper uniform for various reasons. We understand that this can happen from time to time but we will require a note from you if this is the case. We also have a lot of second hand jumpers that your child can use if they have lost theirs. Pants must be the navy blue of the school, the dresses must also be the school colours. If leggings are to be worn they must be black or navy blue and worn under the dress or pants. The shoes need to be sensible school shoes with a closed toe. We find proper leather shoes to be the most serviceable, however good quality runners are also acceptable. Please avoid open toed sandals, thongs or any other casual footwear as these are too dangerous for the children when they are running around.
WE EXPECT ALL STUDENTS TO WEAR THE APPROVED SCHOOL UNIFORM AT ALL TIMES.
We have a clear policy on hair. Hair is to be kept neat and tidy with no extreme cuts or colours.
We are constantly concerned about some students swearing or sledging at school. This is not acceptable and we are speaking to those students all the time. Please reinforce this stance at home as the students need to be able to understand that it is not appropriate at school. School language is quite formal. It means that they are not allowed to be disrespectful to anyone including other children and parents. We will be monitoring their language and will follow our usual processes of discipline if we hear about it. We would like you to remind your children about the way they speak and act at school. We expect everyone at school to show:
MANNERS AND COURTESY
and to live our values of
RESPECT, TRUST, LEARN AND SENSE OF HUMOUR
as outlined in our Values Booklet.
BULLYING AND HARASSMENT – ZERO TOLERANCE
We will not tolerate bullying or harassment in any shape or form. We understand that children have disputes and disagreements one day and are back being friends the next day. Bullying and harassment is " CONSTANT AND CONSISTENT PHYSICAL OR MENTAL HARASSMENT OVER A PERIOD OF TIME". Once we come to the conclusion that this is occurring we will take action to ensure that this behaviour ceases.
